'ParentsNext has added nothing to my life except constant anxiety'

Writer: Margaret AmbroseMargaret Ambrose

When single mum Elsa Symonds received a message from her ParentsNext service provider telling her she was required to attend a meeting, her first thought was, what another one?

Since being on the program she had been averaging two meetings a month, which was becoming problematic for the single mother caring for two children under ten, one on the autism spectrum, as well as hampering her efforts to find work.

But this appointment request was particularly strange: it was for a meeting in Canberra, and Symonds lives in Melbourne.
